Ten years ago today, I was admitted to practice law before the Georgia state bar. I look back on my experience as many do with a mixture of pride and pain. Our profession has to do a lot of work before it has a healthy culture, and business concerns are emphasized too often over clients’ needs or the public good. It definitely wasn’t the ticket to financial security I’d hoped. Despite everything, I’ve been able to do some good. That’s what I wanted. To myself, ten years ago, I say, “Good work, kid.”
